I used to use File\Export to backup my data. But I find there’re many problems after I import them back to Notes. So I think it may not be the proper way of backing up data. What is the correct way of doing that?

- As I mentioned in my previous post, I have a domino server on my own computer. So, the data in the Notes\data folder may not be complete.2. If I reinstall my operating system and get another user name, can I still use these databases?
Subject: How to backup my data?
There are many good backup tools.
I use Veritas BackupExec which also has several agents. On is for backing up Domino databases including the transaction logging. It also has a remote agent which allows you to backup up any databases from any server in your environment from one machine.
My experience with this tool are great. Until now I never needed to restore something. I just was doing some tests which worked great.

Thanks for your response. But I wonder is there any built-in tool in Notes which can implement this task. Now I have a Domino server set up on my own computer, just for studying lotus. However, I may one day remove the server. How to backup/restore data in this situation?
