We have a client that has their archiving setup client based in the Notes client and works good. Unfortunately the server that stores the archives is to be replaced and a new server with a different name takes it’s place as the notes archive store. Where is the path stored for where the client archives to?I assumed it’d be in the notes.ini file but i seems it isn’t. I don’t want to have to go round to 55 users and change their archive path 1 by 1. I wanted to run a script to look for the string \server1\notesarchive and change it with \server2\notesarchive.

the path is stored in the archive profile in each user’s mail file. you could use LS to get to it and make the desired change(s).

I use policies to archive mail files. I replicated the archives and logs from server A to server B, removed the archives and logs from A, then switched the archive server from A to B in the policies. compact -a runs each night, archives to B…no problems so far. What has come to light though, when users who used to have their archives on A, click their “Tools\Archive” it still tries to connect to A. Servers A and B are also clustered. I haven’t dug around in the design…but I’ve got a feeling it is a link to the archive by Repilca ID…so it’s not failing over??? Anywone seen this before.

You could create a policy with archiving-profile. The server where the archives are stored can be defined there. The policy must then be entered in the person document in NAB.
