How to access a folder in the notesdirectory?

I am writing an agent that checks on every e-mail database, I get transverse file using getdatabase and getnextdatabase, However getnextdatabase will go through all files in the notes directory, How can I access files only in the e-mail folder or any specific folder?

Thank you, Both solution canbe used though I will be likely to implement solution 2. We have different server for different users and I think going through the list in the e-mail folder directly will be faster than using the NAB.
