Were can I find Lotus documentation which states how much bandwidth Instant Messaging uses for Chat when enabling in the Notes 6 Client ?
Subject: How much Bandwidth per user for enabling Notes 6.5.X client for Instant Messaging
Bandwidth isn’t really different to the Sametime client unless your are using the Single Signon, which puts an extra load on the sametime server as it opens a connection on port 1352 to the Sametime server to get a token etc. This is an issue for many customers as they had closed that port on the Sameitme server.
There used to be a redbook on Sametime 2.x about scaling and bandwidth, the figures shouldn’t have changed much so would still be a good guide.
