How many times have you done this? (Run Web JavaScipt)

I copy an R5 database to an R6 server and edit a form built for the web only. I make a few modifications to the form and tweak the JavaScript in the JS Header. I test my changes and it seems as if the changes were never implemented. I toss in a few alerts and they are not even displayed!

After many curse words I realize that I am modifying the JavaScript client code. Doh! You really don’t know how many times I have done this. I now make it a habit to delete existing JS client before I do anything else. ;=)

Hello,

Does anyone know how to setup in the Designer to default to the web setting for items like jsheader?

Yes it’s happened to me too

I don’t find fhe way the javascript code is organized very logical…

Tom

Subject: Have you noticed the objects color?

THe objects JS Header bullet changes color depending upon which type is available. It is yellow with a Web JavaScript and dark green when it is a client. If both, half the bullet is dark green and the other is yellow.

Yes, but it’s still not very easy to see you are editing the wrong javascript. Migrated R5 databases tend to have the javascript not where I want it

Subject: Yup. Either Delete it or make it Common JavaScript
