How? email - reports on agents that DO NOT execute or Fail?

Is there any way to report on Agents that fail to run. i.e send an email to a user?

Does Lotus Notes have a tool do do this or do I have to create my own program to report on this?

Thanks in advance.

As I know, LEI(Lotus Enterprise Integrator) can do this, or you must create your own agent to get agent run information to report on this.

If you become unconsious please send an email to your Doctor who will immediately come over

If the agent that you are trying to track writes a document into a database (either the same one or a different one) with the date and time that it started, and then modifies the document with the end time as it terminates then you can write another agent that checks the latests start and end time to see that they are within acceptable limits. But what happens if the agent that checks the agent fails? This is why if this is really critical I would have Agent one write it’s documents into a seperate DB and have Agent two run from that DB incase the first DB gets corrupted and can not be accessed.

So basically the second agent would fire up say hourly and look at the last end time and if it is less that the current time less some period then send an email. Just make sure that the time intervals that you use allows for delays due to server utilization etc.
