How do I Disable Printing, but still allow Forwarding & Copying?

How do I Disable Printing on one form (not all the forms in database), but also still allow Forwarding & Copying on that form?

I thought for shure there would be a QueryPrint somewhere?

For the hide-when properties of everything on the form, you could choose the option to hide it when printed:

Interesting work a round. So your not really disabling printing, but nothing will print on the paper. I guess it would server the purpose of stopping them from printing!

I would like to inform the user via a prompt that they are not allowed to print and list the reason why. If there is a hide-when printed then there has to be a way to trigger my prompt when printed also. Any suggestions on how to do this?

I don’t think there is a trigger that you can fire off of in either case. Instead of a blank page, you could use hide-whens to actually print a message. Of course this can waste paper. I’d prefer (as you would) to provide a message to the user.

Also keep in mind that people can use the Print Screen button in the Operating System and then paste that into a Word document. Of course it wouldn’t be formatted, but the data would be there.

True, nobody will never be able to completely prevent it, but we have to be able to show our auditors that we did everything in our power to prevent misuse of information. I guess the only current solution is to “Hide/When Printed” on the whole page? A blank page will still print out though, and that’s another “click on the page counter” for ourprinter lease as well. :o(

Lotus PLEASE give us a “QueryPrint” event in the forms!
