How do i create a catch-all Mailbox on a Subdomain?

Hello

While regular Mails like @domain.com, are sent to our Users and Mail In etc.,

i want to create some Rule, Configuration or Agent on the Domino Server,

that all Mails that are send to @subdomain.domain.com,are sent to one Mailbox like a catch-all for this Subdomain.

Also theres is no User or anything that exists, for that subdomain, just all mails sent to any address of the subdomain, should go into one Special-Mailbox

Well in Domain Global Config i can create the Subdomain, but after that?

any ideas?

Thanks!

regards

Tibor

Subject: Have you tried a rule?

Have you tried setting up a rule with a condition of “To” contains “your sub-domain” and specify an action of “Move to database”.

Subject: u mean…

a rule on the Server config itself?hmm sounds like something that could work.

Subject: does not seem to work…

because server says “this User does not exist” before the Rule takes action…

Subject: found the reason but not a solution

since in the “Inbound Intended recipents Controls” is set, that a User has to exist in the domino-directory or Mail won’t be accepted. Thing is i cant disable this for security and anti spam reasons for just one Domain, its “all or nothing”…

Subject: Just a thought

I don’t think you can work around the security that you have enabled on the server. Do you have a spam filter outside of domino? If so would you be able to create the catch all there? I know most of the filters out there have something for this. The filter would be able to look at just the domain name rather than needing a specific person. So if a mail from @subdomain then forward to possibly a mail in database that you could setup as the catch all.
