How do change the IM status message to “away” when a users PC is Idle?
We have a quite large company (<1k users) that all use Notes. One question that I get asked more often than not is “why does Notes show me as “I am active” when my PC is Idle, locked and the screen saver is going?”. The problem happens when users IM each other thinking they are at their desk, but they really aren’t.
It sounds like a reasonable question, am I missing a preference somewhere?
I found the User Preference “Logout if you haven’t used Notes for X-amount of time” …but this is just plain not smart on Lotus’ part. Just because I am not “using” Notes does not mean I don’t want it open in the background while I work in other applications.
Please help in anyway you can. Also we are looking at upgrading to Notes 8, if there is not a solution in 7 is it fixed in 8? I am posting this in the v.7 forum as well.
