How can we change Domain name?

Hi everyone.

Our customer company will be change domain name.

So we are checking the way to do successfully.

We are using Notes Client. and there are almost 100 server.

I wanna get some documents to do work and check list and especially considering on and on.

Please help me if you have good exprience.

What is the reason for the Domain change? Do they have the certifier? Did they lost it? Just one company buying another?

We are currently working on the Domain change of a company which lost the certifier password and they want to move the users to a new domain.

So far so good in the test environment.

We are working with a new server (Actually just to have the new certifier) and you basically recertify users with the new certifier (Before making a cross-certificate and a couple of configurations. Which include configuring the adminp to accept requests from other Domains) and then you need to recertify the server.

The most dangerous task it is actually to rename the server. The user’s rename is almost transparent to the user.

But with the server you need to make a lot of changes since the server doesn’t change its name on its own.

Also you would like to do Directory Assistance to route mail.

There is a lot of planning and testing but I am not sure if this helps you.

I’m from korea. first thanks for your reply posting for me.Our customer’s name will be change soon. coz our company has been changed their partner.

So all name also will have to change to new name.

As you told me there are a lot of check list, right.

it’ll be huse work. and i wanna get more detail documents about that. Please if you have some document, share for me.

We need more detail plan about that. and then we will behavior. Thanks for your good tip.

That should do the trick.

Keep in mind that these will help you if your plan is to stop the service until you have it figure it out. If you need to keep both domains, and also to be able to route Notes email (If you have applications that send doclinks for example) maybe you will need to check a couple of other things like in my first post.
