Honey, I broke the (Domino 6) server

Hi all,

I installed a Domino 6 server for development purposes and it has been working fine.

Lately, I get this error which stops the Domino server from booting:

Server exiting:: Partition D.Lotus.Domino.Data is already in use.

How do I fix this? (I did a Google search and also searched this forum w/ no luck.)

Thanks,

Stan

have you rebooted the operating system? It is NT a reboot fixes everything. Hopefully it would unlocde the partition.

have you rebooted the operating system?

Yes. it’s a W2K machine, btw. Unfortunately, tht didn’t fix the problem. I’m wondering if there is a hidden file or something of that sort that is used to lock the partition.

Have you look at any of the services and if there is one using a domino file. did you have the domino directory as part of the environment path.

It sounds like some other process, like a backup, is already using that directory and has locked it up. Check your processes to see what may be using your data directory.

Subject: Honey, I broke the (Domino 6) server --SOLVED

hello all,

I was using windows 2003, when i got this error.

I did like this, saw the services using “services.msc”.

the LotusDomino server type was automatic, i made it as “manual”.

restarted the machine, next time i am able start the server without this error.

thanks,

Sreedhar.
