Highlighting text/table cells in client

I have a form which contains quite a number of fields. The customer wants each individual field (or each field label) to be highlighted when it receives focus so that it guides the user to complete the form better when tabbing through fields. I’ve tried a couple of things mainly using Javascript with onFocus to alter a cell background etc but none of them is doing anything.

I don’t know much about Javascript but I know that the client can now accept it (I’m using Notes 6.5.4) so I assume this can be done somehow. So far I’m not having much luck though. SelectAll doesn’t work because the fields are all empty at the outset so there’s nothing to select. If anyone can point me in the right direction I’d be very grateful!

I was also trying to use client-side javascript to modify the form display real-time with no luck.

Further investigation into this forums’s contents verified this.

My opinion is to not waste your time on trying to do this in the Notes client.

If you must have it, you will likely have to go to the browser.
