Hiding code(design) from users

How do I hide my code(design) from users when I am deploying my system so that users even those with designer or manager acess cannot change or modify the code?

I guess you need to define what part of the code you are trying to hide. There is the ability to hide design, but it hides e=verything and locks down the design completely. If I remember correctly a user can not even create a personal folder. It is using a sledge hammer to drive a thumb tack and is not granular AT ALL!

In our Workflo!Approval product we have moved all of the code from the script libraries into LSS files and compile the code, then send the demo out. It is not possible to see or change any of the script libraries. In the final product we ship most of the source code except for a couple Script Libraries that contain the Licensing code.

in any case this works for us and is much better than trying to use the Hide Design, You can look at how we have implamented this in our demo by going to http://www.wfs.com and download the demo.

Makombe,

When you replace a database design from a template, there is the option to “Hide script and formulas”. This in effect hides the database design.

You should read up on this though before using it, as it is not very easy to un-do

Hi Mike,

You said it was not very easy to undo. So what method can undo that? There are many people saying unchecking the “hide formulas and Lotusscripts” while replacing design again can undo the hidden design. Do you mean this way does not always work?

Actually I am having the problem that I can not undo the hidden design by the way mentioned above. Can you please shed some light on it for me? Thanks a lot!
