I have the following hide-when, which is working well. I need to add to this, however, to not hide if @IsMember(“[ViewApprove]”;@UserRoles). I’ve tried and tried and can’t seem to add it to the below hide-when correctly. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
systemnotes2 != “” | ReceiptDate2 = “” | (@Name([CN];@UserName) != @Name([CN];name2) & @IsNotMember(@Name([CN];Name2);@Name([CN];NoEmailReminders))) | (@IsMember(@Name([CN];Name2);@Name([CN];NoEmailReminders)) & (@Name([CN];@UserName) != @Name([CN];VPDelegate) & @Name([CN];@UserName) != @Name([CN];name3)))
Subject: hide-when and user roles
When I get jammed on hide whens, especially complicated ones, I switch to ‘inverted thought’.
Write out the formula for the ‘show’. This is usually pretty easy. Make sure you get combinations of roles, names, whatevers all listed out.
Then put a set of parens around the whole mucky bunch and add a ! to the beginning.
REM “Show this stuff if”;
A = “123” & B = “456” |
A = “123” & B != “987” |
whatever
Then just
!(
A = “123” & B = “456” |
A = “123” & B != “987” |
whatever
)
And you’re done.
I’ll usually write out a table that lists all the ‘show if true’ combinations so I don’t miss anything and then and/or it all into one formula.
