I have a view that has code in it that will work in Version 6R but will not work in Version R5. Is there a way to hide a view ith the @version command but is not based on a role?
Subject: Hide View
Hi Bruce,
I use @Text(@Version) = “166” in hide-whens to hide actions from notes 5 users. I’m not sure you can prevent users from seeing that the view exists by going to the View - Go To menu though. You could perhaps hide outline entries from notes 5 users and then maybe hide all the columns in the view as well in case they still manage to get into it.

Thank you. I take it from your post that I put this code int the View Selection?

No – it would go in the Outline entry for the view. The view itself cannot be conditionally hidden, just the link the user sees.

Stan,
Forgive me but where do I put this in the outline View? I have looked in the View properties and I do not see where I can put this formula.
Thank you in advance.

Stan is assuming that you have created a frameset that displays the list of views in one frame and the currently selected view in another. The list of views is really a page that contains an embedded outline – a separate design element which you must create. The outline entries each have a hide formula associated with them. The user would never see the “default” view list.
As for hiding the view from the go to menu, you would do that by giving the view a name that’s enclosed in parenthesis. Also give it an alias that’s not in the parenthesis.
