I get mails in my inbox I cannot see… The unread count goes up, although I marked all read.
It seems there must be a reader field, preventing me from seeing the documents. I only know of these documents because of the unread counter and because I did a local copy of the db. In the local db properties there are less documents indicated than in the db on the server.
Any ideas on how to get access to these mails?

There is a way but it will take some time. First I’d suggest checking the routing events view of your home server’s log (to see if you can determine who or what is mailing you these docs, and then you can ask them to stop!).
If that doesn’t help you’ll need to create a view in your mail database categorised on the readers field that’s blocking your access to the documents. Categorisations still work even if you don’t have access to read documents.
This is tricky because you don’t know the name of the field. It may well be “$Readers” but it could be anything.
I’d start by building a view with a selection formula that blocks all mails except the ones delivered in say, the last ten minutes.
Now categorise this view on a column containing the function @DocFields.
When your invisible mail arrives check the view. Assuming it is the only mail to have arrived in the last ten minutes there should be categories for all of the fields on the newly arrived document.
Make a note of the field names. Maybe one or two will be called “ReaderNames” or “$Readers” or similar.
Now, to determine who has reader access to the doc that was just delivered, categorise another custom view on the desired field. This won’t give you access to the blocked documents but it will tell you who/what is named in the field (and therefore who/what you will need to mimick to gain access to the docs).
If you’re lucky the field will contain a role and you can add this role to your acl and assign yourself the role. Et voila! - you’ll now have access to the docs.
Otherwise if the field contains a group name you’ll need to be added to the group in the server’s NAB to see the docs. If the field contains a user name you’re best bet may be to contact the named user as they might know what the mails are all about. They could access and delete the docs for you if you add them to your mail db acl.
You could also categorise the first view you build on $UpdatedBy. This should tell you who’s sending you the mail.
