Help with Ajax DBlookup Simulator

I am experimenting with an Ajax DBlookup Simulator from the following post:

http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/55c38d716d632d9b8525689b005ba1c0/5ca717dc662958bd852570200046500a?OpenDocument

I am brand new to xml and Ajax. I have created a test db; the code is exactly the same as the example in the link. Three fields are populated from a lookup view with 3 documents. This works great in IE but not with Firefox.

The length of the returned documentElement is 3 in IE, which makes sense, but 7 in Firefox. The nodeType for the first node in IE is 1, but 3 in mozilla. I would think these numbers should be the same. Can anyone shed some light one what I am trying to do?

Thanks

David

Yeah, I can. Different document parsers see the world a bit differently. If I recall correctly, Mozilla’s parser sees any white space between nodes, including carriage returns, as a data node. (This is build-specific, by the way, so different versions may see the document differently.)

Richard Schwartz has written some excellent wrapper code for creating request objects on the fly and for Ajax parsing. They’re more than worth integrating into your code, and will save you a lot of trouble in the long run.

I will give his code a try.
