HELP! URGENT HELP NEEDED! Ok, domino was working right before the holidays. As I came back this monday morning, I noticed that my mail client kept saying “The server is not responding”. I checked the server, it is running. Tried to ping it and it works, but my/others mail clients can not connect to the server. I tried to reboot the machine and it seems to be stalled on DOMINO on the startup of linux. I have tried to do a manual restart of the service but its asking me for a password that I do not currently have. PLEASE HELP. How do I restart my domino server and make it work? I can’t figure out why its not working. Everything checks out fine!

In your client …try to open a database from that serverusing your ipaddress instead of the server name
this will reestablish the connection with the client and
server

Hi,
You need the password to be able to start the server. The server id is password protected and a login is required.

Hi,
IF your server is running on linux, you may have the password in a text file somewhere.
Follow your startup script to know where is the password file.
The startup script may be something like: /etc/init.d/domino.
You must be root to be able to read this script.
If the default script is being used you may find a line like: SERVER_PASSWD_FILE=“/local/notesdata/.domino.pwd”
so your password will be inside this file. Pay attention, the first character is a DOT “.domino.pwd”

Daniel
