HiWe are a medium sized insurance comapany. I am seeking a solution for automatically syncronizing the XP password with Notes. We have asked IBM , but nothing have materialized. Our users are pretty upset our this issue, and I myself seriously considering throwing out the whole Notes/Domino plattfor. Can anyone help !!!

Are you deploying Notes Single Logon? What is it that you have asked IBM for that didn’t materialize?
Look in the help under “Synchronizing your Windows NT/ 2000 password with your Notes password”. Install Notes Single Logon (via the install option), synchronize the passwords initially and they will stay synchronized when the end user changes their password.

My best advice to you is to upgrade your clients to 6.5.5, especially if you are installing as a multi-user client, as there is a known bug in the earlier 6.5 releases that is fixed in 6.5.5. See the following technote:
Search the Notes 6 Help for the topic “Synchronizing your Windows NT/ 2000 password with your Notes password”:
While installing Notes, choose to install “Client Single Logon Feature” in the “Custom Setup” dialog box of the “Lotus Notes 6 InstallShield Wizard,” and then finish installing Notes.
Also, this does not work if your ID file is stored on a network drive.

Not entirely true. It isn’t 100% synchronization if you are runing in that non-supported Notes Client install environment. It works fine except when password changes happen when you are not yet logged in (e.g. network resources are not yet available). That happens during the expired password scenario.
