Help! Notes dont work after SP2 upgrade!

Hi all,

im receiving this error message when logging after XP SP2 upgrade:

‘Unable to create locations due to error. This database is currently being used by someone else. In order to share a notes database all users must use a domino server instead of a file server. Locations cannot be used until the problem has been corec…’

Any help appreciated…

Make sure the user (or you) have administrator access in XP.

Thank you, but the user has administrator rights and the error message is still the same.

Subject: Resolved: Notes dont work after SP2 upgrade!

After a short and very enlightening support call with IBM US the culprit was found quickly. notes.ini became corrupted during the SP2 upgrade, so Notes did not start up. Remedy was achieved by moving names.nsf out of the way and stripping notes.ini down to the Directory= line. After going through alle the setup questions when starting Notes the “first” time it runs like a charm.
