Help dbs in new window

Hi All,

How is it that the help database - designer, admin and client - always open in a new window

? In Client 8, we do not have the option to open an app in a new window. Perhaps - if some one knows how the help dbs always open in a new window - we could mimic it for other apps.

Subject: simple but effective

This can be done without any hack just while entering the Catalog Category ‘NotesHelp’

If you wish to disable this window setting, you must first remove ‘NotesHelp’ as the category and deselect the option for List in Database Catalog. Then, you must remove and then re-add the database icon on the workspace. If you only disable the options in the Database Properties, the changes do not take effect.

So pay attention on what database you’re using it → if many users once added the ‘modd’-icon on their workspace it will always open in a new window!

Thanks for the response. Although I would have loved it to work for my mail box - it does not. Guess I will have to try some combinations. I tried this on some local dbs and it is working.

How is it that you are able to post an image ? Do you have access to client version of this forum db ? Guess you are an internal member ( from the response number - all of us mortals have WEB… you have DHA… )

You’re welcome.Didn’t notice that it doesn’t work with mailfile based dbs… It also doesn’t make much sense, but for example opening an archive in a new window would be practicable… let’s see if there is another solution.
