Heirarchicl Db & User Profile Docs

I’m trying to put a $Ref field onto a child document of a database profile document. It’s not working.

Can someone please tell me if Lotus intended this to work?

I have to “hide” some informatin from different types of people, including developers and was planning on reaching into a “foreign” database from my “locked down” database, creating heirarchichal db & user docs, and just accessing the data on the profile docs programatically.

Why can’t I put a $Ref field onto a child doc of a Profile document? I can access responses in formula language, LotusScript, and Java.

What’s the beef?

My problem is that I have to hide information in plain view. readable by all but not fisible. Profile documents do exactly what I want. It would make my (programming) life so much easier if I could use responses to profile document. One more note…

Responses to Responses would be nice too!
