Every morning I am having to stop and start SMTP on domino for SMTP messages to go out. All inbound SMTP is coming in. I have domino relaying outbound SMTP to a sendmail server for outbound SMTP messages. All inbound email goes to the sendmail server then to domino and the inbound SMTP is working. Does anyone have any ideas.

Have you check to make sure the send mail did not give an error to the domino server.
What does the log say that SMTP is doing when it stop processing outbound messages? Domino by default has a retry interval – I am thinking perhaps there was an error message. When you restart the task the retry interval does not play a part anymore.
My thinking is that if you are not seeing an NT application error then maybe the problem is with the “relay server” or send mail.
