Have any one applied 8.5.1FP3 on 8.5.1FP2HF71 ? I always got "Not valid version"

Our domino server version is 8.5.1 FP2HF71 on SuSE linux.

Today, I received from IBM Software notification.

And then download Fix Pack 3.

But while installing it, it reports “Not valid version” for me.

How can I do this job?

Subject: as far as I recall

the linux installer does not rollback automatically to 8.5.1 (without any fixpack) So you have to run the installer from the HF first to revert back to FP2. Not sure if it will work then. Had the same Problem when upgrading from FP1 to FP2 on the server.

Subject: So bad about my situation

Followings are patching steps from 8.5.1 base version

  1. 8.5.1FP1

  2. 8.5.1FP2

  3. 8.5.1FP2IF1

  4. DWAHF_v8.5.1.2_304.5CHF1 (Manually install)

After above, I surely cannot revert to FP2.

So, I have make a support request to IBM Lotus support yesterday.

If no proper methods given, I will unpack official FP3 package and then install them manually.

Subject: SOLUTION

I try to revert to FP2 from FP2HF71 today.It works well. Then install FP3 successfully.

It seems that I do not care whether DWA is patching or not.
