I’ve read the help notes, and release notes, and still can’t get this to work !
Has anyone actually managed to get the Smart Upgrade kit for the client working ? No matter what i put in the Source, and Destination versions my clients get the message - There is no smart upgrade kit for user x on server x.

Martin, thanks for the quick response - it was the allowed users part that was catching me out !!!
I share your sentiments on the help files - actually telling us to use Release xxx would have saved a chunk of work in itself.
I really doubt you’ll get the silent install to work, since it uses an MSI. I’ve not managed it yet with anyone’s products - even with tech support assistance. BUT, as a starting point, unzip the exe file, and grab the msi file that’s inside and try the arguments against it directly. You might have more luck than me
A better workaround is to rename the c491vna.exe file to setup.exe and then change the field in the Smart Upgrade document to reflect the new file name. Then Smart Upgrade will properly pass the command line arugment thru.
Subject: believe it or not…rename upgrade kit to setup.exe
6.0 Smart Upgrade seems to require that the upgrade kit be named setup.exe to pass it any optional arguments. Rename the upgrade kit you downloaded, update your upgrade kit doc accordingly, and let me know what you see.

Hi
we have started to use IBM Lotus Notes Smart Upgrade for test audience, and it worked very well , you just need to ensure that you have filled this exact string “Release 6.0” in Source Field of your smart upgrade document (without quotes) , additionnaly be sure that you have pasted a doclink into your home mail server configuration document and that your Home mail server server run both Domino 6 with Domino directory 6 design
