Has anyone come up with a way to supress the Multi-User Switch ID Dialog box yet?

I found a previous post regarding this topic, but the solution was “there is no solution”. I’m hoping that after 1.5 years there might be.

In a multi-user install of the notes client, when a user goes to switch ID’s, they get a dialog box that says:

“This Notes Client supports multiple users. To use your own private data log into Windows using your personal logon and relanch Notes. Do you wish to continue with ‘Switch ID’?”

Problem is… this dialog box is not only unnecessary, it is problematic in situations where a user may use several ID’s and therefore share the same data. (Such as in a Executive Assistant scenario)

Now, the previous post said to install as a single user install, but then Notes will not work if you put the Windows user into “restricted” mode. This is because when a Windows user is in restricted mode, the Program files folder becomes Read-only.

So… it’s clear to see that one might not want this dialog box to pop-up. So… Lotus… if there is no current fix for this, can you add one?

Thanks in advance!

Subject: Read only

You wrote, “…when a Windows user is in restricted mode, the Program files folder becomes Read-only.” There is no requirement that the data directory be a subdirectory of the the program directory, though this is the default. If this is the only problem, just put the data in its own read-write directory.
