Happy day with Apple iPhone

Even though I don’t have an Apple iPhone myself, I just upgraded a client’s Domino server to 8.5.1 FP3, I installed Notes Traveler, and then I walked my client through setting up her iPhone, even though we were not in the same location. She is super demanding, but in a few minutes she was super happy. Thanks for the Notes Traveler, IBM!

Subject: Could not agree more…

We rolled Traveler out last week and currently have two users on their iPhone and three users on their iPod Touch. We are in the testing phase but we can see already that Blackberries may very well become obsolete before too much longer. I think once the Droid is supported we will be getting hot and heavy in the Traveler world but for the time being, the two Executives we setup with Traveler on their respective iPhone’s are extremely happy which makes us as Notes Admins extremely happy!

Subject: Traveler is working perfect for me

So far we have almost 50 devices using Traveler and it has worked flawlessly (knock on wood). I don’t think I’ve had to reboot that server at all in the 6-8 months that its been running. Sure beat mSuite. Nothing against them, but this product better fits out need.

Subject: Glad to hear it’s working so well.

We’re considering implementing it. Looks like there are a couple ways to do so. Are you using a proxy or VPN or?

Some people post with their problems others post that it works great. It would be interesting to know if there is a implementation scenario that is providing more favorable results.

Subject: Traveler Server in DMZ

We have implemented the Traveler Server in the DMZ. This server is just doing Traveler and is only allowed to use the Notes-Port and the Sync-Port to reach our internal mail server.

Works fine that way.
