Hang on restart

A search on the term “hangs” of this forum explains what the problem is. I’ve reviewed all the “recommendations”

I would just like to ask: Has anyone established what is the underlying cause? Can anyone share the latest information on dealing with this issue?

My understanding is that deleting …\data\workspace folder can correct the issue, but what functionality with that?

Deleting such integral files as cache and desktop is not an option. I am running 8.0.2 (Revision 20080809.0430) but I have roaming and tablet users, some of whom are running 8, 8.0.1, etc…

Subject: Known Issue

There was a known issue with the symptom of a hang when launching N 8.0.2 Standard, the latest FP/CCH addresses that.

Really, delete the Workspace folder? There is A LOT of stuff in there.

We had some luck when we added ENABLE_EARLY_AUTHENTICATION=0 to the notes.ini.
