got some problems with groupshield for domino (5.2.1): we cannot send any encrypted mails (without attachments of course). means, groupshield cannot handle them. we get the message “… was blocked… untrusted source”, nevertheless we DIDN’T enable the “treat unscannable files as infected” and “treat password protected files as infected”.nai support just doesn’t give any support anymore…
any ideas or hints?
thanx for any help!

We have had the same thing…Encrypted mail has never worked with Groupshield on our systems. Like you NAI has been lack luster in the support department…
If you find a solution I’d be interested, If I find something I’ll share it.

Change the setting from the default “Trust None” to “Trust All” and encrypted email should pass through.

that would do the job, right. but: i don’t wanna trust everyone. if i trust everyone, anyone could send encrypted emails (i guess with attachments too, and i don’t wanna get some encrypted .scr, .exe or .com files…).i’m still in contact with the nai support, but it seems there’s no solution. i even got a hotfix - nothing changed.

You don’t have to trust everyone. If you look at the top of the mail.box configuration document you will see that you have three options - “Trust no-one”, “Trust all” and “Trust from selected”. If you select “Trust from selected” a text box appears allowing you to list who you want to trust.
If that doesn’t work for you perhaps you could clarify how you expect GroupShield to behave when it sees an encrypted email.

Just start using TrendMicro Scanmail. Great support for Domino6 and has always worked with Encrypted mails (which are just passed through).
