Group membership linked to a role doesn't work for Notes client

I have a group, it has my name as a web user (LDAP) and as a Notes client user. This group is listed in the ACL of my database and a role is associated with it.

My LDAP user name has the role, bt my Notes ID does not. My Notes ID has lots of other roles, all assigned by checking a role explicitly in the ACL of the database (my name and a few other names are listed explicitly). My Notes ID indeed has all the other roles (I display @Roles in a test field).

Is there an ACL rule that says that if a user name is listed explicitly in the ACL of a database, that group memberships do not add additional roles to those explicitly checked off from the database ACL window?

Subject: Explicit ACL entries override group memberships, so this works as designed.

Aaaah, then I am not (specific to this situation) going crazy.

Thank you.
