The number is limited by the amount of space that can be allocated to the field, which depends on your version.

you can’t chnage the amount of data the field can hold. As Geoff points out, the field is limited to a data size, not the number of members. For instance, below, groupB can hold more members because the names are shorter in length

Why do you want to edit the form.
I am assuming that this is in the Domino Directory, and shouldn’t really be modified.
If you are having an issue with too many users in a single group, then thin about creating a parent group, e.g. “Users”, then create other groups, e.g. Users A-M and Users N-Z, then put the users names in the specific group, and put the group names Users A-M and User N-Z as members of the Users group.
