Group Email Address changed

We’re sending an email to a Mail-only internal group (with an email address of group.name@company.com) and copying an external recipient. The external recipient sees it as group_name@company.com

Our internet email addresses are firstname.lastname@company.com and they are received by external recipients as normal.

So why are the group email addresses being changed from period to underscore? I created a test group to make sure it wasn’t just a problem with that one group and it does the same thing.

It may be the way your Global Domain document is set up. Check it to see how it forms the e-mail address. Notes is replacing the space in the name of the group with an underscore. If the global domain document looks ok, try changing the name of the group to group.name and see if that works.

There were some issues with Internet addresses in groups but I can’t remember which version. Check the fix list DB as well to see if it is a bug.

Actually, it was the Mail Domain field in the group name. Once the Mail Domain field is filled in, the internet address is taken from the Internet Address field.

After replicating the changes, I restarted SMTP and updated router config just to be safe.
