Can a group be given acl?If so…How?

You can go to properties of a group document & then uncheck “All readers and above” & then set the field with members, this will make sure that people who are not in that list does not see that group

yes, just as Ajay explained. go to the docment properties, select the security tab (the on with the key on it), deselect All Readers and Above and create your own list. Be sure to include yourself (and any other admins who need to see the group) as well as your servers.
