Is it only possible ta have graphics in the 75 dpi resolution (maintaining the size of course)?I would like to add scanned signatures to my application, and they look terrible when printed with this very low resolution.

75 ppi (pixels per inch) is extremely low resolution for print (it’s lower resolution than you normally get on-screen with the most common monitor/settings combination, which average closer to 90 ppi). It’s bad enough with full colour, and it only gets worse with black-and-white (two colour). If you want something reasonably printable, move to 150 ppi or higher and at least 4-bit grey scale. If the application is on the Notes client, you can use the picture properties to control the screen display size. If this is a web app, though, controlling screen-versus-print resolution is not going to be pleasant.
Subject: Scales up!
Thank you for your response! Unfortunately I’m still a bit confused regarding what I should do.
I have a high resolution scanned picture of a signature. If I import the picture into Notes, the Notes-client displays it as enormous.
If I scale down the picture in Notes it looks terrible when I print. If I import the picture with lower resolution, I don’t have to scale it down, but it still looks terrible when I print.
So either way, the printout doesn’t work very well.
It seems to me that Notes dosen’t understand the picture’s actual size. It automatically assumes that the resolution of the picture is 75 ppi and displays it accordingly. Both on screen and when printed.

You’re right about Notes not “understanding” the original resolution, but it should still be printing all of the available pixels at whatever “inch size” the graphic occupies – scaling using the properties does not alter the picture itself (or, rather, it shouldn’t). Then again, printing has never been one of Notes’ strong features…

Once more, thank you for your response!
Well, one problem is that the scaling in Notes doen’t work especially well (it never does, in any product). So I end up with a bad looking picture either way.
It would be interesting to know if IBM has any plans to do anything to improve the handling of graphics in Notes in the future. Compared to other products, Notes is really falling behind…
Do you know of any good, not too expensive, printing products?
I’m starting to think that it’s the only way.
