Graphics in e-mails not being displayed properly

I am having a problem with the way graphics are (or aren’t) being displayed in my e-mail. Some examples are: 1. attachment icons (e.g. Excel, Word, Jpeg, etc.) are being displayed incorrectly; 2. document link icons aren’t being displayed at all (I get a text version of the link information); and, 3. screen capture graphics are only being partially displayed (e.g. A screen capture of a table with check boxes only displays the table outline and not the check boxes that are embedded into the table). I believe that all of these problems are related and probably as a result of one particular setting. Until recently, everything was working fine and now I can’t determine what has changed.

These problems are specific to my client, so I don’t think that I need to look at any server settings. I have tried re-installing my client but it didn’t have any effect. So, I think that the problem is OS related. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try next?

If you are on a Domino derver (as opposed to a free-standing Notes install), it’s proably the mail preferences on your Person document – your receive preference should be “Leave in Sender’s format”.

Thanks for the response. It certainly helped to point me in the right direction.

I am using 5.10 server and 6.5 client so it wasn’t exactly what you suggested; but after playing with the settings in my person document I found that by changing the “Format preference for Incoming mail” setting to “Prefers Notes Rich Text” the problem was gone.
