Google Custom Search Engine

Has anyone ever used the “Search box and search results code for your website” bizzo of the Google Custom Search Engine?

I tried it as a test on http://www.dementia.unsw.edu.au/dcrcweb.nsf/page/google (just put something in for a search) but just get an Invalid URL Exception. Yet the same code on a linux/apache server seems to work ok.

Has anyone else tried this? Am I just missing something simple? Perhaps just something weird with the way our cms is setup?

thanks!

EDIT: I never did get this to work with a domino page. The position of the ? in the url added by the google thingie confuses it. If you put whateverpage?opendocument in the url to call, it converts it to ascii and put its own one on anyway. Most annoying. So at the moment just using a static html page in the domino/html directory

I’m not the Domino IT person, but to reply - no, we have not been able to implement GSE. I created one that worked great on the Google site (where you create the search engine), but our IT folks can’t figure out how to make it work. They thought it had something to do with Domino not accepting a “Form ID” field longer than 32 characters.I posted this problem on the Google forum and one person suggested looking at the html of our site and deleting a line a bit below the /head tag that reads . But for some reason no one on our team has done that.

so… good luck. Probably just another Domino incompatability with the majority of the world.
