“The linked document cannot be found in the view”
Hi,
My users are suffering very much for the mentioned error when using Notes. I am able to reproduce
the problem when using the Preview Pane in the mail and then delete a document and close Notes. I
see a problem here if the Preview link to the deleted document. The problem is that this, the error,
happens has well even they aren’t using the Preview. I am wondering if the document actually is being
loaded in the Preview even it is not open. If this is the case the error would be the same!? I think
the document is automaticly loaded in the Preview even it is closed as - don’ laugh
- if the
Preview is opened by a click (Preview in half window) it is there. But if I drag (maybe just touch)
the preview pane and move it up I see the document is already there… This should cause the problem
in this case (which it does) and as well the solution with deleting the bookmark.nsf makes sense as
it contains the link for the deleted document.
Does it make - just a bit - sense or am I complete wrong

If that preview pane is open at all, you will get the same behavior. You want to make sure that the little arrow is pointing up. If it points down, even if you can’t see the Preview Pane, it is still open.

Hi,
what connection has the bookmark.nsf to the preview pane? is the last previewed document stored in the bookmarks?

Subject: Good old “The linked document cannot be found in the view” - one solution: corrupted form
I had this error “The linked document cannot be found in the view” with a preview pane in a custom database.
My eventual solution was to check the form that is being used. My solution was to delete the form and replace it with an older version. It was obviously corrupted.
May be the mail database has a corrupted form. Try replacing the linked or previewed form with an old or blank form and see what happens.
This solved the problem without messing around with bookmark.nsf .
