I set up Mac OSx Lotus Notes 8.5 with GMail using PoP (SSL) as layed out in the GMail site instructions. Now that I have it finally working, Notes is changing the date/time stamp in all of my messages. Doing a web search I see that other GMail to Lotus Notes users are experiencing the same problem.
For example, if a message in GMail shows a sent date of 1 Sept on the email, when I sync with Lotus Notes using PoP it changes the email date stamp to the date I synchronize. This makes my email unmanageable and is a serious show stopper.
I want to use Lotus Notes with eProductivity.com mail template, but I can’t proceed with that until I get this date issue fixed. eProductivity only works with PoP right now…so I don’t have the luxury of trying IMAP.
Anyone have an explanation of what may cause this? Is there a configuration setting in Notes Preferences I need to change?
I’m having the same problem with Lotus Notes 8.5. I’m using Windows 7. When I access my Gmail acct. the time stamp is the time I access, not the time the email was actually sent. Thanks for any help.
The problem is so old and nasty… How to convince customers|management to use LotusNotes if such a simple thing as POP3 mailbox causes a mess with dates?
