EDIT
-
AFTER exhibiting the below described behaviour for over a dozen client loads, the day after I posted this, it magically worked. I tried resetting the toolbars soooo many times, then poof - set. This is why I detest automagic. It’s hideously inconsistent.
-
But that’s neither here nor there. It’s working … for now.

I miss the “next” and “previous” buttons in mail, which have been replaced with “next unread” and “previoius unread”, or maybe those other two were removed. It doesn’t matter, I NEVER use unread buttons. That doesn’t matter, either, because Notes lets me customize the toolbar.
-
Well it did. And it does. IFF I am using an Administrator level account, like I do in the VM, then the toolbar updates and all is well in Client-land.
-
BUT if I use a non-Administrator level account, like I do in the host OS, toolbar configuration is TOSSED OUT. Always and forever.
-
I’m 100% certain this is a file permissions issue. Because this is winbloze I MUST install software as Admin, so Admin owns all the files, including where the Notes Client is attempting to save the toolbar configuration. If I simply give that file to my non-Admin account all will be well in Client land once again.
-
Now I could simply give the entire client directory to the non-Admin account, but that flies in the face of the security I enjoy by running with a non-Admin account to begin with, since my account will then be able to compromise the Notes system itself whenever it wants. I don’t want that, I simply want configuration update ability.
-
What files/directories should I change ownership on to allow this to work?

Thanks for your time…
