We have developed some applications on our Notes Domino 7 Server. However, we are suffering from the slow speed on using the application.
We understand that tuning our application could help to improve the performance. However, it needs much time to process.
Meanwhile, we are thinking about speeding up our LAN.
We are now using 100M LAN. Would Lotus Notes running faster on a giga LAN?
Any advise?

100M is pretty fast. I would suspect it’s your application rather than the network speed that’s causing the problem - big views, using @today, that sort of thing… Our web stuff is served out at about 1meg and is very usable… Some of the databases are 10gig+ with thousands of documents.

I agree the 1st thing you should do is check your DBs “design”, like how many views etc., there are lots of info. on the web that can help redbooks would be the 1st stop.
BTW: When I worked for IBM we had DBs that were 40gb+ & they opened & operated with no problemo.
