"ghosts" in JunkMail folder

when I open my mail db I see “Junk Mail (16)” in the navigator but the folder is empty. What can I do?

More than likely your counter is just off synch, and did not reset. I have seen this numerous times with a user’s inbox. Simply go Edit → Unread Marks → Mark All read to reset all counters.
