I got asked this by my COO. He likes the Ghosted calendar entries, however, when countering an invitation, the invitations disappear from the Calendar view.
What he’d like to see is both entries ghosted, the original invitation time and the counter. This allows the him to see that there is something on that date, but it’s not been completely processed and can follow up.
The way it stands now, there is no telling there is a meeting scheduled.
Any thoughts?

We are currently working on an implementation for this to deliver in 8.5.3. The idea is that the meeting would show at the original time but would be clearly marked as a counter. When opened or hovered over it would indicate the time that you countered to.
It is not in plan currently to put a second entry in the calendar for the proposed timeslot - this was considered and could potentially be revisited for a post-8.5.3 release.

Subject: Domino and Notes waiting…
I really don’t like to demotivate anybody, but Domino and Notes development has become so slow, it will be replaced by modern solutions and cloud offerings. And of course, if IBM does not accelerate the migration towards the LotusLive technology (both for servers and cloud offerings), then more and more clients get lost to the competition. It’s 2011 and we still have no cross-platform Notes Administration, no news about Domino 9 and endless waiting for 8.5.3, etc. Of course IBM can turn the decline, if they want and take this seriously.

What do you mean by “so slow development” and “endless waiting for 8.5.3”? As far as I noticed, the IBM is releasing new versions according to the route plan, sometimes even before originally announced dates. Cross-platform Notes administration is also not a real issue in my opinion. We administer more than 50 Domino domains in the Europe and Australia and I didn’t ever meet a single company, where you can’t find at least one Windows PC to install Lotus Administrator (besides the fact, that we usually administer customer domains remotely from our Windows laptops).
“Not accelerated migration to LotusLive” doesn’t make me demotivated either
