Getting "Update Toolbars" errors. Is it a bug or is there a workaround?

I have begun getting errors that state: ‘Update Toolbars’ has encountered a problem.

The details button of the Problem Occurred window states:

An internal error occurred during: “Update Toolbars”. Failed to create a thread: retVal-1073741830, errno 12

These errors have just started happening, although I have been using the 8.5 client for a couple months.

Does anyone know what is causing this? And if there is some workaround?

By the way, we are in the midst of getting ready for upgrading our environment, so my production servers are not running ND8. They are at 6.5.5. But I have a feeling this is strictly related to the local client.

thanks.

Subject: I’ve seen it here quite a few times as well

I’ve seen that error here as well - my servers are all at 8.0.2FP1 HF287 (or HF309).

I know it’s been awhile since you’ve posted this - Did you ever find a solution? how are things going now?

I’ll mention that for another reason I’ve had to recreate my workspace - the problem still comes up now and then.

Have you seen an issue where your client seems to lose ‘focus’? It seems to me that just before this happens, the focus shifts to the URL Address bar, and multiple web pages open up. Then in some cases it’s hard to get Notes to shift focus back to the client.

I’ll also mention that so far I’ve only seen this on my Admin client - not on one of my test client PCs - but I haven’t yet done a lot of work at the test client PC.

I, too, am contemplating an upgrade, but my initial testing of 8.5 hasn’t been too positive. I’m trying to stall the upgrade in hopes that 8.5.1 might be a little better!
