Getting some information about replication

Hi all,

I am wondering about one thing: Can I get some information about elements that will be replicated, but before I start the replication? Some preview.

Do you know the tool called Subversion (or SVN) - this works much better I think than the replication tool in Lotus. I can for example select the components I want to replicate and the rest is not replicated.

How can a group of developers work on one application (one database), when they can easily overwrite their changes? Everyone has a local replica of the database stored on some server. When two of the developers edit the same element, they will overwrite each other’s changes while replicating. I think it is annoying. Don’t you think?

Maybe there are some separate tools given by IBM, that support such issues?

You can lock design documents, and there are third-party tools such as teamstudio’s CIAO (Check In And Out).

As I have read, Ciao is a commercial application. Is there any free version control application for Lotus? Or at least can I somehow test Ciao before I buy it (I mean downloading some trial version)? I can’t find any useful information on Teamstudio web site.
