Getting Error installing Notes Client 7

Hi I am trying to install a Notes Client 7 on my Machine that already have a R6. I have renamed the existing notes-folder to avoid problems.

Installing R7 I receive a Message that is following:

'Because of Network-error it is not possible to read from a the file ‘Lotus Notes 6.5.3 Da.MSI’ .

I dont understand why it looking for’Lotus Notes 6.5.3 Da.MSI’ and not ‘Lotus Notes 7.0 Da.MSI’ that exist in the same folder as Installation-files that is local on my Machine on not on the Network.

I have searched after the missing file in the mentioned folder and I cant find it. The folder name is ‘Installer’ and is located the Windows-folder.

I have tried to move the Installation-files to the installer-folder under Windows to install, still I get the same Error Message.

I think you will have to deinstall your current Notes installation. The file is perhaps a file in a temp folder.Because you did make a backup of your current installation you wil we able to downgrade to 6.5.4

Is it the only way to a solution, other suggestion is appreciated.

You could try removing entries in the registry for Lotus. There’s one under Local Machine and one under Current User.
