I’m using doc.GetItemValue(RichTextFieldName) to grab the text out of a document and placed it into a summary mail memo. It seems to be adding line breaks after every <=80 characters. This is just what I would expect RTItem.GetFormattedText to do. Are these two methods really the same?

For your purposes I would do:
rtitem.getformattedtext(True,32767) (if you want the tabs replaced by spaces - false if not)
This will prevent the line breaks

I used .GetUnformattedText instead and it looks like I think it should.
