Garbled characters in some emails

Greetings,

In the company i work for we have a user with the following problem, in some emails that he answers in the lotus notes client the text of the email becomes garbled but when he sees it via web it displays without error.

What could be causing this problem?, also the issue is totally at random, some emails he answers are fine and others present the problem.

What does ‘garbled’ mean? If he can see the email OK in webmail, I’d suspect maybe some text is being displayed in a different font?
