From time to time it’s handy to export a view to the .wk4 file format and open in XL. Tried this today and got an MS error that this is a blocked file type!
Turns out in the recent update (they’re so frequent now I hardly can keep track) MS decided my machine needed the SP3 update applied to my Office 2003 installation.
Tracked down the following technote at msdotcom that tells you what they did, why they did it, and what to do restore your machine back to a set of behaviors that you kind of rely on and wish they’d told you were going to get whacked after the SP update.
