A client’s reservation system was recently upgraded to the R7 template. There was a delay of a couple of months from the time the server was upgraded to R7 to the time the reservation database was upgraded due to some non-scheduling customizations they needed transferred to the R7 template from the old design.
The db upgrade went smoothly except for one thing. When the rooms & resources manager task was loaded on the server it sent out acceptance and decline notices to all users that had submitted reservation requests to the database. This was not mentioned in the upgrade documentation from Lotus nor did I experience while testing in development so I was very surprised when it happened. I’m sure it was probably supposed to be “inferred” from Lotus’ statement that an existing reservation database must be upgraded to R7 along with the server to avoid any problems. Typical. ![]()
Needless to say many user who had many reservations in the system were not thrilled to have their inboxes spammed by the system itself ![]()
