I have this database that is used to store attachments. This worked as designed since version 6. We are in a process of upgrading where I notice something strange. The database can be searched with domain search. When I search for a certain word using the full-text index, it gives me, let’s say, 26 results in both the R6 and R85 version. However, if I search for the same word through the domain search, it returns more than 100 results in the same database.
After looking into the results, it appears the are a lot of documents that have a .msg (=outlook) attachment in which it holds a Word document as attachment in the mail. I guess this is new functionality. Now the end users ‘complain’ that they expect/want the same result in the full-text search method.
Is there a way to set the full-text index in a way that it searches for attachments within attachments? The FTI properties are set to enable case sensivity, index breaks, index attachments (not filtered) and encrypted fields, so I guess nothing to alter there.
